Aesthetically pleasing restorations take a lot of effort to place them properly and have them function well with no postoperative problems. Modern materials are being developed every year that can simplify our restorative care when diagnosed and treatment planned properly.
By performing a thorough diagnosis of the occlusion prior to treatment planning it will allow clinicians to avoid future complications and costly failures.
The objective of this lecture is to present a predictable and systematic approach to occlusion and aesthetic restorations that will enable clinicians to achieve consistent quality results.
Benefits from attending:
Understand how to diagnose a case and sequence the treatment to have the best aesthetic and occlusal outcome. Know when occlusal problems are present and how to address them so that the condition is not worsened.
Understand what types of restorative material to use based on their material properties. Learn how to deliver indirect restorations without having to adjust the occlusion. Additionally, post operative problems related to resins will be discussed along with potential ways to resolve them.
A series of clinical cases will be presented and discussed along with some common problems and their solutions. Additionally a variety of materials and techniques will be covered.
You will gain practical tips and step-by-step techniques in the following areas of aesthetic and restorative dentistry:
- Techniques and materials used to place aesthetic and functional direct and indirect restorations
- Aesthetic Crown and Bridge Techniques: To eliminate adjustments at cementation.
- Fast and efficient temporaries every day
- Proper cementation of indirect restorations to eliminate any complications
Course Objectives...
Each participant will learn:
- Proper anatomic contour and how to achieve it using the most advanced dental materials available.
- Tooth preparation, anatomic placement, contouring, finishing, and polishing for direct composite restorations.
- All the necessary steps to deliver a state-of-the-art aesthetic restoration.
- Occlusion and how it relates to the restoration.
- Provisionalisation for inlays, onlays, and full coverage restorations – the use of semi soft temporary materials and bisacrylic resins for various restorative situations.
- Uses and indications for the newest cements available – resin modified glass ionomers and dual cure resin cements.
- Technologies that are revolutionizing the way aesthetic dentistry is delivered to the patient.
Who should attend?
Since this course is very “technique oriented”, attendance by the entire dental team – Dentist, Hygienist and Dental Assistant is encouraged.
Each team member should be able to discuss treatment rationales with patients through a better understanding of the step-by-step techniques. This way many of the techniques can be immediately incorporated into your practice tomorrow!
This course will also include case presentations that will incorporate many of the described techniques and will show creative ways of managing difficult aesthetic and restorative problems that face all dentists.
