Hands-On Course Outline

Success in the clinical practice of complex restorative and aesthetic dentistry requires today’s practitioner to have a sound working knowledge of contemporary materials and techniques. This program will outline all phases of restorative and esthetic treatment.

We will discuss:

  • Treatment planning highlights
  • Simulation techniques
  • Proper preparation design
  • Tissue management
  • Final impression techniques
  • Provisional fabrication
  • Delivery and bonding techniques

This program will allow practitioners to fine-tune their clinical skills through hand-on exercises with provisional restorations, tissue management, impression fabrication and restoration seating and bonding.

Full Day Lecture Outline

Complex restorative and esthetic dentistry can be one of the most rewarding, yet challenging niches in dentistry. A highly developed understanding of the vast number of techniques and materials available for these cases is essential in today’s marketplace. This presentation will outline sound restorative and esthetic principles and techniques designed to enhance every practitioner’s clinical outcomes. In particular we will discuss:

 

  • Treatment planning complex and esthetic cases
  • Case design and presentation
  • Preparation protocols
  • Tissue management and impression fabrication
  • Provisional fabrication
  • Delivery and bonding techniques
  • Emerging technologies in restorative dentistry

Clinicians will leave this course with several clinical techniques that can be readily incorporated into any clinical setting. Several simulation techniques will be outline during the presentation.

Additionally, clinicians will have a better understanding of the materials available in the clinical practice of complex restorative and esthetic dentistry.

The Presenter

Dr. Geissberger D.D.S., M.A., B.S. is Associate Professor and Chairman of the Department of Restorative
Dentistry at the University of the Pacific, School of Dentistry in San Francisco, California. He has 18 years of experience in dental education. He directed the University’s Aesthetic Clinic and has taught numerous hands-on CE courses in all aspects of Restorative Dentistry. He graduated from the University of the Pacific in 1991 obtaining his dental degree and was elected to Omicron Kappa Upsilon as a student. He later obtained a Masters of Arts in Educational Psychology from the University of the Pacific.

Dr. Geissberger serves on the University Council of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He has served as President of Pacific’s Alumni Association and President of the National Chapter of Omicron Kappa Upsilon. Additionally, he serves as the treasure of Pacific’s Dental School Alumni Association and the Deputy Grand Master of the Nu Nu chapter of Delta Sigma Delta Dental Fraternity. He maintains a private practice in Northern California focusing on complex restorative dentistry and aesthetics.
